My apologies

I've been neglecting this blog for the past few days… this week has been bonkers. My wife and children have been away, and rather than adopting my usual behavioural pattern in such circumstances — non-stop work and play — I've been, well, just working.

I know!

Hopefully, I'll be able to reveal more detail about some of the things I've been up to. All interesting, promise. One thing I can talk about is some of the work I've been doing in terms of exporting / importing to / from a Notes system to / from Excel and Access. Nothing really fancy, but if you want to know more, let me know, and p'raps I can work up some kind of article on it. The thing that's amused me is that my current "Excel export" agent fires up Excel quicker than Windoze XP does! Weird…

Steve's been blogging about boredom in an hotel room with only NotesRichTextItem classes for company. Been there, done that… heh! I feel your pain Steve. BTW, get some permalink code in yer blog!

Anyway, it's past 2 in the morning. I should really go to bed…

  2. yeah - I observed this when initialising a background excel object using R4.5 (those were the days!), but it slowed down a bit when you show it on the screen, which I ended up doing for troubleshooting. I wonder whether the fact that it fires up faster means that it's skipping something important. Seems to work ok though. Good ole Micro$oft. Hurrah.Spikey#
