What with it being Friday, some random links and amusement:

Via Dave Winer: Apple Computer history weblogs: fascinating stuff.

G5 update via Ben Lampard: I only want one!

Meanwhile, londonmark has written a thorough discourse on speaking. His recommendations for effective public speaking are particularly thoughtful — and of course timely for those amongst you who will be speaking at the upcoming Admin / Developer UK and VIEW conferences:

  • Avoid the overuse of the word 'm*th*rf*ck*r', when speaking in a business or religious place
  • Wear clothes
  • Clean the blood from your hands
  • Maintain eye contact with the audience
  • Don’t finish every sentence with “by Thor’s hammer”

Excellent advice, particularly the fifth bullet: ye Gods, the number of times I’ve done that.
