Another year, a bit less hair… I did well on the present front today, with plenty of books and CDs to keep me quiet:

Birthday presents

(Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training is a gift from the kids, along with the promise that I can play it on their DS thingies. Not sure what they’re trying to tell me there…)

The news that Top Gear’s Richard Hammond is improving after his horrendous accident yesterday is heartening also: here’s wishing the “hamster” all the very best for a full recovery.

  1. Happy birthday, Ben. And you got your copy of Brain Training. :-)Volker Weber#
  2. Happy Birthday!

34 who would have thought it :-)Jason Thorpe#
  3. Happy Birthday sir… keep losing the hair. It makes me feel better.

  8. Happy Birthday!

Not sure about the Brain Training - If you believe what you see on the TV, using that ends in divorce. ;)Ben Rose#
  9. Have a good one Ben - always reminds me that I age again and catch up with you in two months.Steve Castledine#
  10. Happy birthday dude…yer catching up! :)Colin Williams#
  11. All the best Ben! I hope you can retain what you read in those books, what with your age now firmly placing you in a new demographic!Simon Barratt#
  12. Thanks one and all. A pretty bloody awful day thanks to work, but nearly over now!

As you say Mr. T., who’d have thought it? :-D Ben Poole#
  13. Happy (belated) birthday!TheOldGit#
  14. Happy birthday! Since at your age, you no doubt forgot that you had a b-day yesterday, do let this serve as a reminder. Regardless of what the day was REALLY like, just know that it was a splendid day - as is today really, and most any day when one is privileged enough to be breathing :)

And don't worry about the (diminishing) hair -- one does get used to it.

    CheersJoe Litton#
  15. Joe, you make am excellent point of course :-) Breathing and so forth -- it's all good!

Re the hair, this is getting blown up out of all proportion -- I shall have to publish a photo up here soon. It's really not THAT bad, but in any case, I'm certainly not worrying about it. What is it they say?

    "Hair today, gone tomorrow…"

    (I thank you).Ben Poole#
