Very quick update

Still alive! Last night, as a belated tenth wedding anniversary gift (for me rather than us both, it has to be said!), Mrs. P and m’self went to London to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in action. Despite being a fan for some seventeen years or so, this was the first time I actually got to see them live, in action. It did not disappoint. What a band. They didn’t do Under The Bridge but they did do some other stuff that hasn’t been aired on stage in a while—most notably Soul To Squeeze and Me And My Friends! The new material sounded great. The place went mad for Dani California and Tell Me Baby and the other tracks went down very well.

Frusciante did a couple of solo spots, one a dedication to the late Syd Barrett. All in all, a splendid night.

As for technology, work, DominoWiki, and all the rest—it’s all coming along. Work has been crazy (if you have an IT environment as regulated and restricted as my employer’s, documenting, installing and managing a brand new Documentum-based installation is not for the faint-of-heart. ’Nuff said).

  1. Sounds like they did a different set to when they came to Ipswich then. We got Under the Bridge as part of the encore along with Chad Smith wearing an Ipswich Town shirt which got a rapturous response!Matt White#
