Adobe update Flash player

But can I get the damn thing to install? Can I buggery. I keep getting this error message from the installer:

Adobe Flash 9 for OS X installer error

I had quit Safari… so I figured it must have been NetNewsWire, you know, what with its WebKit implementation and all. Nope, wasn’t that.

OK, so maybe it’s Mail.app? Nope.

Ah, stuff it, why not quit absolutely everything but the installer and try again?

Still no dice. How stupid.

(Try to) Get Flash Player.

Update: no, no-one else was logged-in at the time. A re-boot did the trick. Tsk!

  1. I had the same problem Ben, but then noticed that my 4 year old had logged on and had Firefox running there. Once I logged him off, the update installed.Simon Barratt#
  2. Yes, that would certainly do it! I tend to log everyone off before doing software updates for this reason.

On a related point, does anyone know of a command / utility in OS X that allows an admin. to log-off all but the current account? There must be something. I shall a-Google and shall consult my Big Fat UNIX book :-) Ben Poole#
