Dan Lyons is a great journalist

He may have moved on from Forbes, but Dan Lyons continues to demonstrate what a class act he is:

Well it’s a weird situation. I can’t really get into this but people close to him [Steve Jobs] have been saying for quite a while (before the appearance onstage) that he’s really sick. And someone who saw him last week says he still looks like shit.

Nice. I’m no Steve Jobs fanboy, and he’s big enough to look after himself, but for gawd’s sake, what is this? An apparently-respected journalist goes on record to say things like, “…someone who saw him last week says…” Good grief, are we back in nursery school?

  1. Sad to say the least.

Now, where did you get the idea he was an apparently-respected journalist?Vitor Pereira#
  2. He was being sarcastic. I have been saying the same thing. If interested click my name for my blog for a similar article. Dan didn't like my first one so much that he decided to attack me, a hobby blogger that maybe gets a few hundred hits a month (I don't track them, its a hobby, primarily for my own enjoyment). And little ole me is according to Dan an "enabler of Steve Jobs' bad behaviour". Nice. Who is enabling his?Dizzle#
  3. Dizzle, your analysis is pretty much spot-on I’d say. Plenty of people have had run-ins with Lyons and his rants about things like Apple, linux, IBM Lotus, bloggers, etc., etc., etc.Ben Poole#
