QuickStart

Editing

Anyone can change or add to pretty much any of the pages residing within this wiki. To do so, simply click the EditPage? button at the bottom of the relevant page, edit the text, and then click the Save button.

Note that some pages don't have the EditPage? button, because they've been locked by the site admin. for whatever reason (for example, the StartPage).

Experimenting

Visit the SandBox to have a play before creating or editing pages. Sorry, but as at version 1.2, there is no Preview functionality in this wiki -- I may get around to that some day!

To create a link to another page, simply type its name (in the WikiStyle?, i.e. mashed-together with capital letters for each word). Note that there are a couple of other ways you can link to pages if you don't like WikiWords? -- more about that in a second.

If that page doesn't yet exist, the reference to the page will appear as normal text with a hyperlink question mark immediately following it. Clicking the link will create a new page for that WikiWord.

Otherwise, the WikiWord will simply become a link to the existing page.

Check out the 'Style tips' pane for a more detailed look at the mark-up you can use, which includes a few methods for page linking.

Security?

Uh, beyond the occasional locked-down page (like this one), there isn't any. Yes, I know this means that any scrote can barge in and delete stuff, but so what. I'm not bothered so why should you fret? It's part of WhyWikiWorks?, and besides, I have some crafty back-end versioning going on, so I can always restore stuff ;o)

Maybe you should create your own page (e.g. BenPoole?). You might also use the login option at the bottom of the screen to set up a user name that will then stay with you via a cookie (and will be recorded against any page changes you make).
